F. Cecil Grace Foundation
Overview
The F. Cecil Grace Foundation began its work over 18 years ago and achieved official not-for-profit status from the State of New York in May, 2008. Founded by F. Cecil Grace, with the support of his wife Boo Grace, the foundation focuses its efforts on two major, though very different, issues: promoting positive behavior amongst youngsters in school settings, and offering a solution to the ever increasing threat posed by the obesity epidemic.
The Foundation takes on the first of these issues through its program, Operation: Positive Role Model, which has enjoyed great success at several schools in the suburbs of New York City. The program is entirely student run and aims to glamorize the good deeds that often get overshadowed by bullies and their indiscretions.
The second issue, obesity in America, will be tackled head on with a soon-to-be-published book, co-authored by Cecil and Boo. Developed over several decades, the book offers a comprehensive program that helps Americans make simple choices, replacing traditional high calorie foods with a low-calorie option.
In addition to funding and executing the main initiatives of the F. Cecil Grace Foundation, Cecil and Boo also have philanthropic relationships with many organizations.
